From MS to PhD: Congratulations, Dr. Hu!

We are thrilled to celebrate PNA member Dr. Chen Hu on the successful defense of her dissertation, Determinants and Optimization of Disability Outcomes in Multiple Sclerosis: Applications of Markov Models and Causal Inference Framework!! Her research uses real-world clinical data to better understand what drives disability progression in MS patients and how treatment strategies can be optimized to improve long-term outcomes.

During her time at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Hu demonstrated an exceptional commitment to dedicated, patient-centered science. We are excited to see her continue this work as she looks to use real-world data to better predict, prevent, and modify long-term disability progression in people with MS- with a focus on personalized approaches that support better treatment decisions and improve quality of life.
