Congratulations to eBrain Faculty Dr. Andrea Rosso on a significant new publication!
The study, led by Jessica Rast of Drexel University, analyzed approximately 600,000 records and found that individuals with both Alzheimer’s disease-related dementia and Parkinson’s disease had significantly higher odds of a neurodevelopmental diagnosis, such as autism or ADHD. This association remained significant after adjusting for key demographic and health-related factors.
These findings add to growing evidence of shared biological mechanisms linking autism, age-related dementia, and Parkinson’s disease, and suggest promising avenues for therapeutic approaches that could benefit individuals across these conditions.
